ENGLISH TEACHER TO HEADLINE VOCAL GIRLS’ LAST DANCE

VOCAL GIRLS will be joined by English Teacher, Silver Gore and Truthpaste for our farewell show at London’s MOTH Club on 12th December.

English Teacher headlining Windmill, Brixton for Vocal Girls in 2023

After almost six incredible years of promoting women and LGBTQ+ artists, we are sadly saying goodbye to this very special chapter of VOCAL GIRLS.

For over half a decade, the team at VG have been shouting about the very best new artists around, publishing features, launching podcasts, putting on stages, and sharing pints with a superb cast of female, non-binary, and LGBTQ+ musicians. Having had so many amazing memories, we’ve now taken the difficult decision to put VOCAL GIRLS on ice. Fear not, though: we are, of course, having one last dance to celebrate the past six years, and we’re thrilled to be returning to where it all began.

Our first VG event at Moth Club in 2021 with headliner, Olivia Dean

We’re immensely proud that, four years before she sold out four nights at The O2 and became the first woman in history (!) to have four UK Top 10 singles at the same time, Olivia Dean headlined our launch event at London’s iconic MOTH Club. And to say goodbye, we’ll be back under its golden ceiling on 12th December with Mercury Prize winners and VG veterans English Teacher, who last played for us at the Windmill in 2023 and are fresh off the back of two sold-out Roundhouse shows. Completing the bill are buzzy newcomers Silver Gore and Truthpaste, who promise to deliver the riotous send-off we think VG deserves.

The opportunity to uplift and celebrate the music we love, help diversify festival lineups, raise money for important causes, and build this brilliant community has been a dream. No matter what the future holds, we’ll always be proud of the things we’ve done together, and the people who have shown up to support that.
